FAQ

Questions from African Buyers

Which plug type does each African country use?
It varies. Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana use the UK plug (type G). South Africa uses the type M (large round three-pin) plug. Francophone West and Central Africa (Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, DRC) use the EU plug (type C/E). Egypt and North Africa use the EU plug. See the plug table on this page.
What is SONCAP and do I need it for Nigeria?
SONCAP (Standards Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme) is mandatory for importing regulated products into Nigeria. USB-C chargers require a SONCAP product certificate. We provide our CE test reports (EN IEC 62368-1) as the basis; your agent in Nigeria processes the SONCAP application.
What is PVoC for Kenya?
PVoC (Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) is mandatory for imports into Kenya. A KEBS-appointed inspection body inspects and tests the goods before shipment. We provide test reports and make the goods available for pre-shipment inspection at our factory.
What is NRCS for South Africa?
NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) regulates electrical products in South Africa under VC 8055. The importer applies for a Letter of Authority (LoA). We provide CE test reports as supporting documentation.
How long does shipping to Africa take?
Sea freight from Shenzhen to Lagos: 25 to 35 days. To Mombasa: 18 to 25 days. To Durban: 20 to 30 days. Air express: 5 to 8 days to most African capitals. Your freight forwarder confirms the exact time.
What is the MOQ?
500 pieces per model with your logo. 300 pieces on request for a first trial.
Can I order via Dubai and re-export to Africa?
Yes. Many African buyers source through Dubai's Jebel Ali free zone. See our Middle East page for Dubai shipping details.
What payment methods do you accept?
T/T (bank transfer): 50% before production, 50% before shipment. L/C (letter of credit) on request. We send a proforma invoice with the final price.
Do you supply charger wholesale buyers in Nigeria?
Yes. For charger wholesale Nigeria orders we fit UK plugs and provide the test reports for your SONCAP product certificate.
How do I import chargers from China to Nigeria?
To import chargers from China to Nigeria, get a SONCAP product certificate, a Form M through your bank, and a forwarder for freight to Lagos and customs clearance.
Do you supply mobile accessories wholesale buyers in South Africa?
Yes, with chargers. For a mobile accessories wholesale South Africa business, chargers need NRCS approval under VC 8055; we provide the test reports.
